Space Station Design Workshop 2009 July 2009. Thirty people from all over the world are designing a base on the South Pole of the Moon. My main responsability was ‘robotics and mobility’. A short report on the workshop is here.
ESA Student Workshop 2008 In August of 2008, I attended the first ESA Student Training Workshop. This consisted of a week of visits and lectures at ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The main subject was ‘System Engineering and Technology for Space Missions’. You can read my report about the workshop here.
RoboDaGama RoboDaGama is a personal project to make a Lego Mindstorms robot, controlled by a computer program via Bluetooth. The program is made in Java. To know more about what, why and how, have a look at this page.
First European Space Elevator Workshop: verslag‘Climbers ascend a ribbon, 100,000 km long, strung between an anchor on Earth and a counterweight in space. Connecting Earth and space in a way never before possible, the space elevator will enable us to inexpensively and completely expand our society into space.’ – from spaceelevator.com.
After visiting the First European Workshop on Space Elevators in Luxemburg on November 10-11, 2007, I wrote an article about the Space Elevator together with Joris Gillis. It was published in Euroavia News 4/2007. Click here for the online version.
GeoSport, team work project in 2007. Our goal was to make a website that lets users upload data logged by a GPS device during sporting (e.g. running or cycling), and visualises the results of the training session. By doing this, users get the opportunity to analyse and improve their sporting. Furthermore, we have tried to make sporting an even more sociable thing than it is by route sharing, competitions, challenges and groups. More information (mainly in Dutch) about the task, the design, the results and possible future possibilities can be found here.
Greece 2006 In August 2006, Sander, Tim and myself went to Greece. We visited Athens, Delphi, Nafplio, Epidauros, Mycene, Mykonos and Delos. Some pictures and more practical information (only in Dutch) can be found here.
Argentina 2006 During these six days the International Biology Olympiad lasted, biology and tango were the common ground, the precursor for meeting a lot of people, each having very different accents, lifestyles, cultures and personalities. Diversity, tolerance and an open mind were spontaneously present. The more than 45 nationalities made for a fantastic mix and a unique experience… My report can be found on this page (only in Dutch).
